So please welcome the Summer Crochet Essentials Set!

This 3 piece set includes everything you need to take your effortless summer outfit to the next level. Transform a basic tee or little black dress with the Summer Crochet Essentials Set, which includes a sunhat, drawstring tote, and kerchief made with a sturdy mercerized cotton yarn. These classic spring, summer, and vacation accessories can be styled in many ways, together or separately, and are perfect for the beach and warm weather. My sample was designed with 24/7 Cotton by Lion Brand Yarn, in the colors White and Tan. These are great pieces to make from using yarn in your stash, or an excuse to try out some new cotton yarns!

Other great yarn options besides 24/7 Cotton include:

I designed thisΒ  summer crochet set with Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton in the colors White and Tan. You can pick this yarn up at either your local Jo-Ann stores or by going to www.LionBrandYarn.com and shopping all of their 30+ amazing colors.

Not all designs come easy and this one definitely gave me some trouble along the way. I made the sunhat about four times before finally landing on the winning pattern. I am so pleased with how they all turned out so it’s always worth it in the end! I wanted this to be a set without being so matchy-matchy. I made the bag first and that one came pretty natural to me. I knew I wanted stripes and more beige so it would hide dirt, especially if using at the beach. So rather than designing the hat exactly the same with the stripes, I decided to use the same stitch in a solid white to really give the feel for summer and be able to wear with any summer prints or bathing suit patterns. The kerchief came so effortlessly and I went with tan so you could wear it around your neck without getting dirty with sun block, makeup, etc.

If you would prefer the inexpensive, ad-free, printable PDF copies, follow the links below. I appreciate yourΒ  support which allows me to continue to do what I love and bring you free content and beautiful crochet and knit patterns! <3

  • ch 1 at beginning of rows/rounds do not count as a st.

  • Drawstring Tote straps are made using the Romanian Cord method. You can watch a tutorial video for that method HERE.
  • Sunhat and Drawstring Tote patterns are made holding the yarn double stranded.
  • Kerchief pattern is made holding the yarn single stranded.
  • This pattern is written in short hand, (ex: 2sc = 2 sc sts in one st).
