The year-long project sponsored by Lion Brand Yarn called the “Traveling Seasons Afghan” is now ready for my square. This has been a collaborative effort between 13  designers and bloggers from across the U.S. and Canada!

Starting in January, the first Seasons Afghan square was started by Whistle and Wool, and then began its seasonal journey to a new designer every month. Each designer created a 13″x 13″ square with their seasonal memory. These are published free online so everyone can follow along with us and create your own crochet Afghan! The year-long collaborative effort connects us with one another through the things we love and with memories built in. Each Square created has been designed with a passion behind that season.  We will begin each new month with our seasonal square, where each row will represent our favorite memories of Spring, Summer, and Fall, and Winter, and at the end of the 12 month long project the final border will complete and connect us all together. Scroll down to get the free pattern, or you can click HERE for the ad-free, printable PDF pattern for just $1.

Overview

The Lion Brand Traveling Seasons Afghan Square 5 is here! Square 5 is the second of three summer squares, and since I grew up and currently live in Michigan, the Great Lakes State, I had to pay tribute to my favorite thing about Michigan summers: water! Being at the lake and surrounded by waves is one of my favorite things about summer, and I hope this wavy design brings you tranquility and fond memories of your favorite things about summer, too!
