I know I say this every time I have a new pattern, but this just may be my favorite design and finished piece to date! I have been on a blanket kick lately, probably because life has been SO hectic the last few months, so simple repeats and constructions are exactly what my mind, body, and soul needs right now.

This design has everything that I love –  meditative stitches, easy repeats, light and airy, yet warm and cozy. Also can we talk about this fringe for a minute?! *swoon*

I am just so pleased with how this design turned out and I hope you love it too!

  • ch 3 counts as a dc st, ch 1 does not count as a stitch.
  • Numbers at the end of each row/round indicate the st count.
  • It is recommended to steam entire blanket, including fringe, for the best finished results.
  • Keep in mind: your gauge, yardage used, and finished size may vary depending on if you make any changes to the pattern as written.

Make 3sc in the last st on the side and turn to work along the foundation chain. Sc in each ch across, making 3sc in the last st on the bottom chain. Turn to work along the other side of your blanket. Make 1sc in each sc row and 2sc in each dc row across. Make 3 sc in the last st, and slst to the first st to join the round. (114 sts on top and bottom, 176 sts on each side)

Rounds 2-3: ch 1, sc in each st around, making 3sc in each corner space. (118 sts on top and bottom, 180 sts on each side)

Fringe (Optional)

Using a 12” / 30.5 cm piece of cardboard or thin book, wrap extra yarn around and cut all on one side to create 24” / 61 cm long strands of fringe.

You will need 224 fringe strands for your blanket.

  1. Take 4 pieces of yarn and fold in half
  2. Insert crochet hook into first stitch of row
  3. Pull loop through stitch
  4. Pull ends of fringe through loop

Repeat steps 1-4 in every 4th stitch across, (skipping 3 sts between each set of fringe), on both edges of your blanket.

When both edges are complete, gently steam block the fringe and entire blanket to relax the fibers for the best finished look. Then trim fringe with sharp scissors for perfectly straight and beautiful finished edges.
