Pattern Notes

  • All Little Red Knits’ patterns are written in standard US terms.
  • There is a color chart available in the paid version of this pattern, available on Etsy or Ravlery.
  • Each chsp counts as a stitch.
  • ch 1 at beginning of border rounds does not count as a stitch.
  • This stitch pattern has a reversible fabric, you will create a “right side” and “wrong side” when you make the border.
  • On the last stitch of a row before a color change, pull through the last loop with the new color for a seamless look.
  • Cut yarn after every color change, and crochet over the ends to avoid weaving in multiple pieces later on.
  • The numbers at the end of each row indicate the st count.
  • To make your blanket wider than the size given, increase your initial chain by any even number.
  • Note that yardages are approximate and assume proper gauge.
  • It is recommended to steam entire blanket, with extra attention to the fringe for the best finished results.
  • Keep in mind: your gauge, yardage used, and finished size may vary depending on if you make any changes to the pattern as written.

*ch 1, sk 1 ch, sc in next ch, rep from * to last st, (sc, ch 1, sc) all in last st. Turn to work up the last side of your blanket.

Cut yarn, tie off, and weave in all ends. Continue to fringe instructions.

Fringe (Optional)

Using a 12” / 30.5 cm piece of cardboard or thin book, wrap extra yarn around and cut all on one side to create 24” / 61 cm long strands of fringe.

1.Take 3 pieces of yarn and fold in half

2.Insert crochet hook into first corner chsp of row

3.Pull loop through stitch

4.Pull ends of fringe through loop

Repeat steps 1-4 in every other chsp across, on both edges of your blanket.

When both edges are complete, gently steam block the fringe and entire blanket to relax the fibers for the best finished look. Then trim fringe with sharp scissors for perfectly straight and beautiful finished edges.
