Happy Friday and Happy Valentine’s Day!

Today I am sharing a new Friday Freebie pattern, with a very special modeling guest, my forever Valentine, my husband Rockey! <3

My handsome hubby requested a warm yet sophisticated scarf he can wear when going to work in the city. I designed this scarf with the vision to illustrate confidence, elegance, and class, but also stay masculine. Sometimes crocheted items using chunky yarn tend to look more on the feminine side, but I wanted to really do this design justice for him. I think the colors I chose using Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick paired with basic stitches portray the masculinity and modern feel I was going for. This beginner pattern mixes simple stitches and classic stripes to create modern feel. It’s very easy to customize this design to the length or width of your preference, and the color combinations are endless.

I chose the name Grandeur Scarf because of the meaning and origin of the word. I really wanted it to elate certain feelings when looking at the design and this word encompasses my vision.

gran·deur

noun: grandeur
  1. splendor and impressiveness, especially of appearance or style.
    Similar:

So without further adieu, here is the second Friday Freebie featuring the Grandeur Scarf. Happy crocheting!
