Hello! My name is Grace and I am the avid crocheter and designer behind the Stitchberry Blog!
I started crocheting a few years ago because I wanted a hobby that would keep my hands busy and allow me to be creative. Little did I know how much crochet would become such a big part of my life. From the beginning I was always tweaking patterns and creating my own designs. I am passionate about creating crochet pieces that are modern yet timeless. I am so happy to be sharing my Tenley Twist Cowl with you on the first edition of Little Red Knits’ Friday Freebies blog posts!
I cannot believe that it has taken me this long to crochet with velvet yarn. It is some of the softest yarns to work with. With this cowl, I knew I wanted to keep the stitch pattern simple, because I really wanted the yarn to be the star of the show! I chose to use one of my favorite stitches, the herringbone half double crochet! I am obsessed with this stitch, it is easy for mindless crocheting and it creates a beautiful texture.
To make this cowl a little more interesting, I created a twist in the cowl. This is super easy to do and makes the cowl lay really nicely and creates more interest in the cowl.
Also be sure to check out my blog for more free patterns and my Instagram for behind the scenes and sneak peaks! The free pattern is below, but if you want an inexpensive PDF of the pattern head on over to my Etsy shop for the pattern. Enjoy!
